Who we are

What we collect

  • Walk-in check-ins: first name, last name, mobile number — entered at the in-shop kiosk to let a barber know you're here.
  • Booking requests: name, email, phone, service preference, appointment notes — collected when you book online.
  • Staff SMS opt-ins: first name, last name, mobile number, timestamp, the exact consent text you checked the box on, IP, and user-agent — captured at /sms-opt-in.

How we use it

  • To notify on-duty barbers via SMS that a walk-in customer has arrived.
  • To confirm walk-in claims to the customer via SMS (single confirmation, plus an optional "your chair is ready" message at the barber's discretion).
  • To schedule, confirm and remind on appointments.
  • To staff our SMS roster for walk-in alerts.

We do not use SMS opt-in data for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

SMS messaging program

Walk-in alerts are sent through Telnyx (carrier infrastructure provider) on our behalf. Frequency varies; typical staff recipients receive 5–15 messages per business day. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help. You can also unsubscribe by emailing hello@shearandshave.com with subject line "STOP".

Your mobile number and consent metadata are not shared with third parties for marketing, promotional, or any other purpose. Telnyx is a sub-processor limited to message delivery on our behalf and is contractually bound to those terms.

Retention

  • Walk-in records: 30 days, after which they are deleted.
  • Booking records: retained for our internal records as required for tax and service-quality purposes.
  • SMS opt-in records: retained as long as you are opted in, plus 12 months after STOP for audit-trail purposes.

Your rights

Email hello@shearandshave.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold on you. We respond within 30 days.
